Blogging A-Z Challenge: C, D and D

Today is the fourth day of the Blogging A-Z Challenge and I’m already a day down.

If you haven’t checked out my earlier blogs, here’s an update. I’m attempting the 2021 Blogging Challenge which means posting a blog every day in April, except Sundays. Each post will follow the theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet.

So, what’s my theme?

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

Even though I get pretty dirty in my books, this will be a PG rated post. I can’t promise all of them well be 😉

Keep reading and I’ll provide a list of my books and where you can buy them. But even though this challenge will be full of self-promotion for me, I want it to be fun for you as well! So here we go!

C is for Callie

Callie Champlain is one of my most favourite characters to write. She does what she wants, takes who she wants, but values her friends and commitments of others above all.  Brawdy, busty and blonde, Callie wasn’t content to only be one of the main characters of the Office Plays series, but she spent a memorable weekend at the swinger resort in Room Service, the second book in the Adults Only series.

And coming in June, Callie will be one of member of Fantasies Book Club, my new series.

What’s your favourite colour? Red – blazing, bright, scarlet

Favourite food? Cookies. With a glass of milk

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I went on a road trip to Muskoka last summer with Brienne. I’m not much for traveling, preferring to find my fun closer to home. Although I did go to Nova Scotia a few months ago and that was a lot of fun!

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Diana Dors. She was the British Marilyn Monroe with a reputation of holding parties in her bedroom. Sounds like I’m the reincarnation of her!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Backstreet Boys – all right!

Teenage crush (famous person) Luke Perry. I loved the bad boy with a heart of gold. I watched all of Riverdale just because he was on it

Favourite body part Am I allowed to say that? Because you know…

The last book you read and was it good I’m making my way through the Bridgerton series

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I don’t drink a lot but when I do, I like it fruity. And I’m partial to a nice bourbon

Last question!

Three words to describe you Fun, fast and a little bit freaky!

D is for Dominic…and for Del

I write about married couples in my books, and two of my most favourite husbands are Dominic and Del. Dominic is half of Dom-and-Jacey from Husbands and Wives series, about a happily married couple moving into a neighbourhood of swingers. Dominic is the most supportive swinger husband ever, who lets Jacey do whatever and whoever she likes, as long as she comes home and tells him about it.

D is for Dominic

What’s your favourite colour? Green

Favourite food? Jacey’s cook all that much, so when she does, I pretty much like anything she makes. But she makes the best mac n’cheese. The kids love it

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Asia. That’s where I met Jacey

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Dom and the Husbands. Or maybe Dom and the Wives. That might be more fun

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? I listened to a lot of Pearl Jam back in the day. I can’t believe I just said that – back in the day!

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennie Garth. It was the only reason to watch Beverly Hills 90210. It’s funny because when you compare her to Jacey, they have nothing in common, lookswise

Favourite body part the curve of a woman’s waist

The last book you read and was it good The Martian by Andy Weir and it was great. Just as good as the movie

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I really like a nice Barolo, especially from 2010

Last question!

Three words to describe you Good teacher, great father and the best listener

D is also for Del

Del is married to Iliya in the Touch series. The two of them have an open marriage and invite Kenna to join them in the bedroom. He’s an award-winning author, also a teacher, self-professed mama’s boy and only wants his wife to be happy.

What’s your favourite colour? Navy blue

Favourite food? Kenna’s brownies. But don’t tell my Mama

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’ve been all over the Caribbean, and it’s bad that I should know what island is furthest. But hey, I’m an English teacher, not geography

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Del and the Dominos. That sounds like a real band!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? L L Cool J

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennifer Love Hewitt

Favourite body part A woman’s skin

The last book you read and was it good A Man Called Ove

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Glenfiddich Scotch Whiskey

Last question!

Three words to describe you Husband, writer, educator

So here’s two posts and three characters for the price of one! If any of these character seem to be up your alley, make sure you check out my books at Or drop a comment and let me know what you think!

New Release!

The final book in the Office Plays series is finally available!  It’s been a long wait, but Brienne, Callie, and Sadie’s stories are worth it.

“This is like an X rated version of The Office. I swear this could be an HBO show! I just wonder if there are offices like this?!?! ;)”

The time of office plays is coming to an end

The president of the company might enjoy his office plays with Sadie, but his rules banning all employee relationship has Callie up in arms even though she hasn’t sealed the deal with Michael yet. Their early morning meeting ended with Michael returning to work, and his girlfriend, leaving Callie nursing a broken heart.

Brienne is trying to forget her past mistakes but the arrival of Cooper makes her wonder if she’s about to make an even bigger one.

Jason’s new responsibilities means he knows even more about the employees and but when he finds out more about the president, he worries that Sadie is over her head.

These employees are spending more time on romance than work!

Finish the series today!

Or start from the beginning!

Week Five of my Goddess FishTour!

Today on tour I stopped by Lock That Door!   Instead of more info about me, you can get to know Callie Champlain, who you’ve met in Office Plays and who will be in my next Adults Only book, Room Service (coming soon!) Callie is one of my favourite characters and I hope you learn to love her as much as I do, because you’ll be hearing a lot from her in Room Service!

Character Interview with Callie Champlain – Room Service, Office Plays

Where do you dream of traveling to and why?

Well, right now, I’m looking forward to heading to Nova Scotia. There’s a bed and breakfast there that caters to more adventurous adults and I’m due there next weekend! Should be fun! Other than that, my travels take me to places where there’s warm weather, beaches with hot boys and lots and lots of fruity cocktails!

What do you think makes a good story?

Steamy romance and great sex!

Tell us about your family.

My family. What do I say about my family? First of all, my father would have preferred me to be a boy. He really had no idea how to raise a daughter, especially my mother left. I was twelve when she took off. Not a great time to be motherless. But my dad did the best he could, and my brothers helped. They were the ones who told me about sex, which probably explains a lot.

I’ve been told that I act more like a man than a woman when it comes to relationships. Or maybe the reason I don’t have relationships. I don’t see the point, since you always end up hurting someone. Or yourself. Anyway, I’m sure my brothers weren’t the best example. Or my mother, the little I knew of her.

What was the scariest moment of your life?

Until last year, the scariest moment was realizing my mom had left me behind, and wasn’t coming back. But telling Michael I loved him beat that out.

Neither turned out well.

What group did you hang out with in high school?

I was a cheerleader in high school, can you believe it? So, I guess I hung with the popular kids, the football players, and the mean girls. They were mean, too. I tried not to be, but I’m sure I had my moments.

Do you play any sports?

Ha! Is sex a sport?

Honestly, is it?

If you could apologize to someone in your past, who would it be?

Robby Hughes. I was not very nice to him when he asked me to prom. But I friended him on Facebook a couple years ago, and the years have been very good to him. That saying about the geeks ruling the world is totally true! I wouldn’t mind a face-to-face with Robby to really make it up to him. 😉

Who should play you in a film?

Ooh, good question!  We played this at work one day – who would play up in the sitcom version, but film is better. I’d love to say Margot Robbie because I think she could handle my sass, but there’s really not enough of her to handle all of me.  Maybe Sofia Vergara, if she was a blonde.

What would we find under your bed?

(She gives a ribald laugh)

A man? At least something he’s left behind. Whoever he may be.

Meet Callie and the other excitable office workers in Office Plays and Secrets and Lies

And get to know her even more in Room Service, the second book in the new Adults Only series. Available early 2018

Week Two of my Goddess Fish Tour!

Don’t you love that name!! Goddess Fish Promotions

Anyway, week two finds me being interviewed at Books, Dream, Life. Check out the page for the entire feature.

Making Friends, Touch, and Office Plays are all 99 cents

for a limited time!!

What inspired you to write this story?

Shared Accommodations came about in a strange sort of way. I had just finished my Touch series and I was trying to come up with something new for my next book. I read an article in a magazine about this man who traveled around the country having rendezvous with married couples and something about it clicked with me. My first series was about a group of swingers, and it was so much fun to write that I had been trying to come up with a way to revisit it. So then the traveling man and the swingers somehow came together into a resort for adults, primarily for swingers and I went from there.

What was your favorite part to write?

My favourite part of writing is creating new characters. I loved coming up with Lorde and his heartbreak and backstory. I think the scene with him and Elizabeth was my favourite. And Morena – I have so much on her, I can’t wait to tell her story!

What was the hardest part to write?

Honestly, the sex scenes!  Not all the time – I do write erotica and I like to think I’ve gotten pretty good at it. But it’s hard when I’m working in the middle of a scene and everyone is all excited, and all of a sudden my kids will come home from school or my husband will ask me something, and I have stop in the middle and leave my characters hanging! I don’t like to leave my characters hanging – it’s no fun for anyone!

How did you come up with your characters?

I get the name and an image of what I want the character to look like. Then I find a picture of an actor on-line and start with a character bio – description, backstory, what they want in the story. I think a lot about my characters before I start and while I’m writing. I don’t really know how I come up with them, but there’s usually some part of myself in each. Maybe we both have the same favourite movie, or I use something that’s happened to me, as a way to find their emotion.

Do you have anything coming up and can you tell us about it?

Of course! I’m in the midst of the second Adults Only novel – this one is called Room Service. Morena and Lorde are back, along with a few of the guests from Shared Accommodations. I had requests for some of the older characters, so they’ll visiting the B & B for the weekend again! But no Jacey and Dominic  – they’re back home with their naughty neighbours. This time we’ll meet Callie and Sadie and Jason, from my Office Plays books.

Only 99 cents for a limited time!!

New Book – Secrets and Lies Available Now!

Whew!  It’s been a crazy few days, couple of weeks but I’m happy, pleased and proud to report my latest book, the second in the Office Plays trilogy – Secrets and Lies – is available on Amazon.

You have to spend at least eight hours at work. Why not enjoy it?

The office can be more than a place for work. Fun, gossip, excitement…hookups in the supply closet, early morning interludes, and sex on the desk.  For the employees of Hever Construction, led by the ever-obliging Callie, they’ve done it all.

But Sadie is getting in over her head with Alma, now that Alma has gotten her husband involved in their relationship. Abby’s former fling Cooper has started working at the company which makes things complicated for her. Michael’s beginning to realize his girlfriend might not be right for him, especially when he’s spending more time with Callie at work. And Callie is letting her feeling for Michael get in the way of her office playtime.

Everyone has their secrets and the lies are building up, especially in this office.
