Blogging A-Z Challenge: C, D and D

Today is the fourth day of the Blogging A-Z Challenge and I’m already a day down.

If you haven’t checked out my earlier blogs, here’s an update. I’m attempting the 2021 Blogging Challenge which means posting a blog every day in April, except Sundays. Each post will follow the theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet.

So, what’s my theme?

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

Even though I get pretty dirty in my books, this will be a PG rated post. I can’t promise all of them well be 😉

Keep reading and I’ll provide a list of my books and where you can buy them. But even though this challenge will be full of self-promotion for me, I want it to be fun for you as well! So here we go!

C is for Callie

Callie Champlain is one of my most favourite characters to write. She does what she wants, takes who she wants, but values her friends and commitments of others above all.  Brawdy, busty and blonde, Callie wasn’t content to only be one of the main characters of the Office Plays series, but she spent a memorable weekend at the swinger resort in Room Service, the second book in the Adults Only series.

And coming in June, Callie will be one of member of Fantasies Book Club, my new series.

What’s your favourite colour? Red – blazing, bright, scarlet

Favourite food? Cookies. With a glass of milk

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I went on a road trip to Muskoka last summer with Brienne. I’m not much for traveling, preferring to find my fun closer to home. Although I did go to Nova Scotia a few months ago and that was a lot of fun!

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Diana Dors. She was the British Marilyn Monroe with a reputation of holding parties in her bedroom. Sounds like I’m the reincarnation of her!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Backstreet Boys – all right!

Teenage crush (famous person) Luke Perry. I loved the bad boy with a heart of gold. I watched all of Riverdale just because he was on it

Favourite body part Am I allowed to say that? Because you know…

The last book you read and was it good I’m making my way through the Bridgerton series

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I don’t drink a lot but when I do, I like it fruity. And I’m partial to a nice bourbon

Last question!

Three words to describe you Fun, fast and a little bit freaky!

D is for Dominic…and for Del

I write about married couples in my books, and two of my most favourite husbands are Dominic and Del. Dominic is half of Dom-and-Jacey from Husbands and Wives series, about a happily married couple moving into a neighbourhood of swingers. Dominic is the most supportive swinger husband ever, who lets Jacey do whatever and whoever she likes, as long as she comes home and tells him about it.

D is for Dominic

What’s your favourite colour? Green

Favourite food? Jacey’s cook all that much, so when she does, I pretty much like anything she makes. But she makes the best mac n’cheese. The kids love it

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Asia. That’s where I met Jacey

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Dom and the Husbands. Or maybe Dom and the Wives. That might be more fun

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? I listened to a lot of Pearl Jam back in the day. I can’t believe I just said that – back in the day!

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennie Garth. It was the only reason to watch Beverly Hills 90210. It’s funny because when you compare her to Jacey, they have nothing in common, lookswise

Favourite body part the curve of a woman’s waist

The last book you read and was it good The Martian by Andy Weir and it was great. Just as good as the movie

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I really like a nice Barolo, especially from 2010

Last question!

Three words to describe you Good teacher, great father and the best listener

D is also for Del

Del is married to Iliya in the Touch series. The two of them have an open marriage and invite Kenna to join them in the bedroom. He’s an award-winning author, also a teacher, self-professed mama’s boy and only wants his wife to be happy.

What’s your favourite colour? Navy blue

Favourite food? Kenna’s brownies. But don’t tell my Mama

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’ve been all over the Caribbean, and it’s bad that I should know what island is furthest. But hey, I’m an English teacher, not geography

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Del and the Dominos. That sounds like a real band!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? L L Cool J

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennifer Love Hewitt

Favourite body part A woman’s skin

The last book you read and was it good A Man Called Ove

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Glenfiddich Scotch Whiskey

Last question!

Three words to describe you Husband, writer, educator

So here’s two posts and three characters for the price of one! If any of these character seem to be up your alley, make sure you check out my books at author.to/AnnaElllisbooks. Or drop a comment and let me know what you think!

I’m back to blogging!

At least for the month of April. Once again, I’m attempting the Blogging A-Z Challenge after crashing just before the finish line in 2020.

Who can blame me? It was 2020.

But this is 2021—a new year with its own set of challenges. I’m going to focus on the one I can control.

What is the Blogging A- Z Challenge?

It all began 2010 when a blogger (not me – anyone know who I can credit for this?) challenged other bloggers to post every day for the month of April. If you take out the Sundays of the month, it makes 26 days – one day for each letter of the alphabet, and the challenge grew from there. There are hundreds of bloggers who participate and I’ll post the master list as soon as I get on it for those interested in checking it out. All you need is a website where you can post your blog and an idea to write about, referred to as a theme.

So, what’s my theme?

The theme for this year is:

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

I’ll be selecting a character from one of my books and giving them a few questions to answer, including what their favourite beverage is. And to begin with, I’ll let you know a bit about me – Anna Ellis.

As a bit of background, I’m an author of thirty-five novels, collections and short stories – books that are sexy and steamy and usually feature married couples enjoying the company of other married couples. I write in the erotic romance genre and I write about swingers.

Am I a swinger? I can’t tell you…yet. 🙂

Anna Ellis – Author

What’s your favourite colour? I like purple or a nice, dark red. Blue red, not too orangy.

Favourite food? Tonight I’m making burgers so I’ll go with that. I love a good burger with just the right about of melted cheese, maybe a bit of bacon, a slice of avocado and a slick slather of mayo. Hungry yet?

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Vienna, Austria

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  The Swingers

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Alanis Morrissette – the whole Jagged Little Pill album

Teenage crush (famous person) Kirk Cameron. Which is slightly ironic (ironic – Alanis! :)) since I’ve heard he’s an uber-conservative who most likely would not appreciate my books! But, hey, he was really cute! And I just dated myself!

Favourite body part A man’s hands

The last book you read and was it good Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. And yes, very good!

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Dirty martini. And here’s how I make them!

  • 3 ounces gin
  • splash of dry vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce olive brine – we call it olive juice!
  • Garnish: 2 to 4 olives…or more. Helpful hint – Cerignola olives are my fav! They have a pit but are so meaty that it’s like you get a snack as well!

Shake gin and vermouth with ice, then add olives and juice. Cheers!!

Last question!

Three words to describe you Fun, feisty, and enthusiastic!

NEED A NEW READ? I Have a New RELEASE to tell you about!

It’s been a while since I’ve published a new series. I’ve still been writing, but lately I’ve been focusing on the Women’s Fiction/Romantic Comedy side of things, under my Holly Kerr moniker. (if you’re interested – hollykerr.ca 🙂 )

But I’ve gone back to my writing roots with this trilogy. Swingers!!

And as an added bonus, one of my favourite couples from my Husbands and Wives series make a cameo!

Reviews are looking lovely so far, so check it out!

ONE SUMMER

Married couple Jasmine and Basil are bored.

A new trilogy from the author of the swinger series Husbands and Wives and Adults Only!

Sex is still good but has a predictable pattern that makes Jasmine want to scream, and not in a good way. It’s hard for her to keep up the bedroom banter when she’s so tired that an episode of Outlander can’t even keep her attention.

Basil feels like a broken record, always asking for sex of a wife who would rather catch a few extra zzzs. He loves his wife and their life together but wants a little more of both.

Every summer, they head to Aurora Resort with friends, a magical place where they can sleep in the sun and drink wine while someone else looks after the kids. Jas knows they’ll find their way back to each other, but this year, it’s not her husband who catches her attention as they relax at the lake.

Wyatt is big and brawny, with muscles that quickly invade her fantasies and a sweet smile that sends her stammering to make conversation. To make it worse, his wife Carson is sexy and fun and easily befriends Jasmine. But it’s not all friendship and girl time Carson wants. She sees the way Jasmine looks at Wyatt, and it’s a good thing because she and Wyatt are swingers looking for a new couple to play with.

And they think they are perfect to help Jas and Bas bring the sexy back to their marriage.

Will this be a summer of sin, or can the swingers really help Jas and Bas save their marriage?

Book Two – ONE WEEK – is out in three weeks so there’ll be no long wait between books. ONE NIGHT is out three weeks after that.

If you enjoy reading about swingers, or even happily married couples looking for a little extra, check out my ONE series!

New Release!

The final book in the Office Plays series is finally available!  It’s been a long wait, but Brienne, Callie, and Sadie’s stories are worth it.

“This is like an X rated version of The Office. I swear this could be an HBO show! I just wonder if there are offices like this?!?! ;)”

The time of office plays is coming to an end

The president of the company might enjoy his office plays with Sadie, but his rules banning all employee relationship has Callie up in arms even though she hasn’t sealed the deal with Michael yet. Their early morning meeting ended with Michael returning to work, and his girlfriend, leaving Callie nursing a broken heart.

Brienne is trying to forget her past mistakes but the arrival of Cooper makes her wonder if she’s about to make an even bigger one.

Jason’s new responsibilities means he knows even more about the employees and but when he finds out more about the president, he worries that Sadie is over her head.

New Book News!!

I’m excited!

No Vacancy is available to pre-order now!!!

I’m so happy with this series because I get to bring back favourite characters from my earlier series! And this time around, there are lots of old faces, as well as new couple!

**Watch for more from Gemma & Jasper** Hint hint. New series.

Sexy, fiftysomething Morena thought she had left her swinging lifestyle behind when she bought Fallen Gardens in rural Nova Scotia. But it turns out her past is the best thing for business!

It’s Christmas at Mrs. Robinson’s and Morena has no more room at the inn. Old favourites return for the holidays, as well as new friends.
Gemma and Jasper are happily married with an exciting love life, but Gemma is worried the excitement won’t last forever. She books them for a weekend at Mrs. Robinson’s to try something – someone – new. But Gemma’s at a loss once they get there. Luckily, Jacey and Dominic are also visiting that weekend, and Jacey’s happy to take the couple under her wing.

Morena is enjoying her relationship with younger man Jed, but when an old friend of Jed’s visits, Morena wonders if it’s time to take things to the next step – to find someone new to join them in the bedroom.

Before Elizabeth, Lorde kept things sexy and simple in his love life. But nothing prepared him for living with Elizabeth and her ever-increasing appetite for excitement, especially not her request to meet some of the guests at Morena’s swinger weekend. Can Lorde handle seeing Elizabeth with someone new – and can he trust himself?

Merry Christmas from Mrs. Robinson!

New Covers for Husbands and Wives

It’s been five years this month since Making Friends, book one of my Husbands and Wives series was published. Five years!  Five years, and I’m still thinking of stories for the sexy swingers, happily married couple Jacey and Dominic. Watch for them to make an appearance in the next Adults Only book!

I thought I’d give the books a little excitement and give them new covers. What do you think? What one is your favourite?

And all of them are free if you sign up with Kindle Unlimited!

Making Friends

When happily married couple Jacey and Dominic move onto Honeysuckle Court, Jacey is surprised at how welcoming their new neighbours are. Invites for potlucks and playdates and lots of friendly overtures from the neighbours on the street – making friends has never been this easy.

It’s not until the couple get their invite for Tia’s Saturday night party that Jacey and Dominic realize what’s going on.

Their new neighbours are swingers.

Young, attractive, happily married couples ready to play and willing to swap partners as easily as borrowing a cup of sugar.

And they want Jacey and Dominic to swap with them.

Release day for Late Checkout!!

Adults Only

First we had Jacey and Dominic from Husbands and Wives took a break from their naughty neighbours to visit

Then Callie from Office Plays came to play

Finally it’s Iliya’s, from the Touch series, turn to meet Morena and Lorde!

 Late Checkout is available now!

Iliya has done everything she can to get over Del and Kenna. She’s moved in with William, let him dictate who she sees, what she wears…who she plays with… but it’s not working. She agrees with William that a weekend away at Mrs. Robinson’s B & Be for swingers might be the perfect thing for her, and lets him pack her things.
But Iliya didn’t know about the history between William and the owner of the B & B, the sexy fiftysomething Morena. And she doesn’t find out until they arrive.
Morena’s done everything she could to get ready for William’s arrival – new pillows, new haircut, tried to find a new relationship, but nothing can prepare her when her past meets her future. William is under her roof and Morena can’t help but wonder what it would be like if he stayed.
Lorde is also wondering how he got Elizabeth under his roof – and what he’s supposed to do with her kids. Fatherhood is new for him, but he’s giving it his best shot. But what’s really confusing him is how the Elizabeth sharing his bed seems a little more adventurous than the Elizabeth he gave his heart to all those years ago.
Not that he’s complaining.
It’s another swinging weekend at Mrs. Robinson’s!
