Blogging A-Z Challenge – L

We’re almost to the halfway point of the April Blogging Challenge! L is for Liam

Liam is the office crush of Aubrey in The Hot One, one of the short stories found in Peek-a-Boo. Liam has no idea he has the interest of quiet Aubrey but that quickly changes when he’s caught in the office shower without his pants and asks Aubrey to rescue him!

So what does Liam like to do for fun?

What’s your favourite colour? Hunter green

Favourite food? My ex-girlfriend would have made me say curry because she had a thing for Indian food, but really, it’s steak. Big, thick steak, cooked medium rare, with a side of garlic mushrooms and a baked potato. And chocolate cake for desert. I guess I gave you the whole meal, didn’t I?

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’ve been all over Canada, to Florida a few times, and I went on a biking trip in France. So whatever one of those is the farthest

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  The Bike Seats! Because I always take the seat off my bike and bring it to my desk when I ride to work

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots – I was big into grunge.

The ex-girlfriend kind of drummed that out of me

Teenage crush (famous person) Hannah Montana. Not Miley Cyrus, but her Hannah Montana character. And Britney Spears. She was really cute.

Favourite body part Uh…breasts. That’s an easy one

The last book you read and was it good Ready Player Two, and not as good as Ready Player One. The sequels rarely are

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I’m really into craft beers these days. I like a nice IPA

Last question!

Three words to describe you Athletic. Fun. Aubrey says I have a nice ass, too, so can I use that?

Want more Liam? Read The Wild One, found in Peek-a-Boo.

Blogging A-Z Challenge – K

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun

K is for Kenna

The Touch series tells the story of Kenna, a lonely divorce and her friendship with Iliya and Del, a married couple who are looking for a little extra spice in their bedroom.

What’s your favourite colour? Green

Favourite food? pizza, especially living on my own. A whole pizza can last me a week

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I was born in New Brunswick so moving to Toronto was the farthest I’ve been

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be? The Crayolas, because I’m an illustrator

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? New Kids on the Block. They were from the 90s, weren’t they?

Teenage crush (famous person) It’s embarrassing but I had a huge crush on Justin Bieber

Favourite body part I like necks – men and women both. I think the lines are beautiful and the way it curves into the shoulder is amazing. I’ve tried to draw it but I can’t do it justice

The last book you read and was it good I read a lot of Young Adult books – I just finished the Shadow and Bone series

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Vodka. Vodka and just about anything. But vodka martinis are my favourite

Last question!

Three words to describe you Quiet, artistic and…now, I’d say adventurous. Thanks to Iliya

Blogging A-Z Challenge – I

Today is Saturday and the Blogging A-Z Challenge has reached the letter I.

Books and Booze – The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun

I is for Iliya

Iliya is married to Del in the Touch series. When she befriends lonely divorcee Kenna, things quickly heats up between the women as Kenna debates Iliya’s suggestion of becoming more than friendly with Iliya and Del. Iliya has her own reasons for wanting Kenna to join their life; she needs the distraction of her past

The Touch Collection is a menage romance, and Iliya also appears in Late Checkout, the third book in the Adults Only series

What’s your favourite colour? Black – like my heart.

Favourite food? sushi

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’ve been all over Europe, so pick a place

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Whips and Chains. Because – well, that’s what I like

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Tori Amos. I wouldn’t call her a ‘jam’ but I love her music

Teenage crush (famous person) I had a thing for Jason Priestly, which is really strange because he was such a good boy on Beverly Hills 90210, and I’m not into good boys at all!

Favourite body part I like hands – what they can do, how they can hold…

The last book you read and was it good I tried to read Del’s last book. It’s good, of course it’s good, but just not for me

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Scotch. William has the best Scotch

Last question!

Three words to describe you Dark and dangerous…and damaged

Check out the Touch series to see how dark Iliya can get

Books and Booze: The Character of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun

Today April’s blogging challenge is brought to you by the letter H

H is for Hettie

What’s your favourite colour? blue

Favourite food? pizza with extra cheese

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? London, England

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  The Bears – as in the Mama Bears

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? I loved Garth Brooks. I still do

Teenage crush (famous person) I loved Adam Brody from The O.C. I know everyone thought the other guy was hotter, but not me

Favourite body part A man’s chest when you can lay your head on it

The last book you read and was it good Because of the kids I don’t get much reading done. So, I guess the last book was Good Night Moon. A great book, but when you read it over and over again…

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Strawberry daiquiri!

Last question!

Three words to describe you Tired, more tired and now after listening to what was going on, a little excited!

Blogging A-Z Challenge

We’ve hit G Day in the blogging challenge! To recap, I’m attempting to post every day in April, except for Sunday, using the letters of the alphabet and with the theme of:

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

G is for Gemma

Gemma was introduced in the fourth and final book of the Adults Only series, No Vacancy but her story is far from over! Still happily married to Jasper, with a few new swinging experiences under their belts, Gemma get her own story told in book one of my new Fantasies Book Club series, One To Watch. (Coming in June 2021) When Jasper goes away for business, leaving Gemma to her own devices and what basically amounts to a free pass for her marriage, Gemma turns to her new friends in book club, including Callie (see C is for Callie post!) for tips and helpful hints on how- and with who – to spend her free time with.

Say hello to Gemma!

What’s your favourite colour? Green. I grew up on a farm and it always brings back memories of home. Not all good ones, but you have to take the good and bad

Favourite food? This noodle dish that Jasper’s mother makes. I don’t the name but it has lots of vegetables and a sweet, spicy sauce.

Sweet and spicy. I like that

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’d like to go to Australia to see Jasper but I’m not sure that’s going to happen.

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  The Book Bunch. Because I’m in a book club now.

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? 90s – oh wow. I listened to a lot of Trisha Yearwood back then. Faith Hill. That Kiss might have been my favourite.

Teenage crush (famous person) Is it bad if it was a girl? Because I loved Willow on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. My father wouldn’t let me watch it at home because…because, you know demons and such, Willow was so smart and brave, and I liked that. The smart part. Because I’m pretty smart

Favourite body part Jasper has a really nice bum. And his legs are really strong…

The last book you read and was it good Callie gave me this one about reverse harems…it was, em, enlightening.

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Brown cow

2 ounces milk

1 ounce Kahlua

crushed ice

Last question!

Three words to describe you Smart, careful, and in love with my husband

Get to know more of Gemma in One to Watch, the first in the Fantasies Book Club series, coming in June! And check out the Adults Only series to get more swinger fun

Blogging A-Z Challenge brings you the letter E

If you’re just tuning in, this is the fifth post of the Blogging A-Z Challenge, where I will attempt to post every day in April (except Sunday), with a theme that follows the letters of the alphabet. My theme is:

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for Fun.

I won’t be talking about everything they do for fun, because this is a PG blog and I write about swingers!

E is for Emma.

Today we’ll be talking to Emma, one of the wives from Husbands and Wives.

Emma is the newest neighbour, arriving in the fourth book, well after things start to heat up with Jacey, Dominic and the rest of the couples on the street. She’s more inexperienced compared to the rest of the wives, but she doesn’t want to let her husband Nathan down when they get the invitation to one of Tia’s infamous parties

Emma

What’s your favourite colour? Pink. I like pink. I know it’s a girly colour, but I like it. If that makes me girly, than so be it.

Favourite food? Cake. Any type of cake. Chocolate, vanilla…red velvet is really good. Lemon. I had this orange cake that was made with almond flour and it was really good. I really like cake. Especially when I’m nervous

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Nathan took me to Paris on our honeymoon, so that far

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  I would never be in a band! I can’t sing or play an instrument, so what would be the point of picking a name?

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? My jam? I didn’t listen to a lot of music in the 90s. My father…there wasn’t a lot of popular music in the house. Nathan has introduced me to so much since we’ve been married, so I guess whatever he likes to listen to from the 90s.

Teenage crush (famous person) Luke Perry. My father never allowed me to have pictures on the walls of my room, but my friend gave me a magazine once with Zac Efron in it. I guess him

Favourite body part Mine, or someone else’s? I think it’s Nathan’s stomach. He’s so fit because he’s a firefighter and his stomach…there’s a lot of muscles. A lot. And it’s tight and flat and when I run my hand across it he – let’s just say Nathan’s stomach

The last book you read and was it good Melissa gave me a romance to read, but there wasn’t much actually romance, just a lot of sexy bits. I don’t want to say it was good…it was different. I can’t even tell you the name of it.

Look, I’m blushing just talking about it!

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Nathan buys me the pink wine and I like that. White Zinfandel. I think that’s what it’s called

Last question!

Three words to describe you To describe me? I’m careful and organized, and…I don’t know…sexy. Mahak said I’m sexy, so that’s what I am. Sexy.

I hope you liked hearing from Emma! She’s part of the Husbands and Wives series, as well as Interludes.

Blogging A-Z Challenge: C, D and D

Today is the fourth day of the Blogging A-Z Challenge and I’m already a day down.

If you haven’t checked out my earlier blogs, here’s an update. I’m attempting the 2021 Blogging Challenge which means posting a blog every day in April, except Sundays. Each post will follow the theme, as well as a letter of the alphabet.

So, what’s my theme?

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

Even though I get pretty dirty in my books, this will be a PG rated post. I can’t promise all of them well be 😉

Keep reading and I’ll provide a list of my books and where you can buy them. But even though this challenge will be full of self-promotion for me, I want it to be fun for you as well! So here we go!

C is for Callie

Callie Champlain is one of my most favourite characters to write. She does what she wants, takes who she wants, but values her friends and commitments of others above all.  Brawdy, busty and blonde, Callie wasn’t content to only be one of the main characters of the Office Plays series, but she spent a memorable weekend at the swinger resort in Room Service, the second book in the Adults Only series.

And coming in June, Callie will be one of member of Fantasies Book Club, my new series.

What’s your favourite colour? Red – blazing, bright, scarlet

Favourite food? Cookies. With a glass of milk

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I went on a road trip to Muskoka last summer with Brienne. I’m not much for traveling, preferring to find my fun closer to home. Although I did go to Nova Scotia a few months ago and that was a lot of fun!

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Diana Dors. She was the British Marilyn Monroe with a reputation of holding parties in her bedroom. Sounds like I’m the reincarnation of her!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Backstreet Boys – all right!

Teenage crush (famous person) Luke Perry. I loved the bad boy with a heart of gold. I watched all of Riverdale just because he was on it

Favourite body part Am I allowed to say that? Because you know…

The last book you read and was it good I’m making my way through the Bridgerton series

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I don’t drink a lot but when I do, I like it fruity. And I’m partial to a nice bourbon

Last question!

Three words to describe you Fun, fast and a little bit freaky!

D is for Dominic…and for Del

I write about married couples in my books, and two of my most favourite husbands are Dominic and Del. Dominic is half of Dom-and-Jacey from Husbands and Wives series, about a happily married couple moving into a neighbourhood of swingers. Dominic is the most supportive swinger husband ever, who lets Jacey do whatever and whoever she likes, as long as she comes home and tells him about it.

D is for Dominic

What’s your favourite colour? Green

Favourite food? Jacey’s cook all that much, so when she does, I pretty much like anything she makes. But she makes the best mac n’cheese. The kids love it

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Asia. That’s where I met Jacey

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Dom and the Husbands. Or maybe Dom and the Wives. That might be more fun

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? I listened to a lot of Pearl Jam back in the day. I can’t believe I just said that – back in the day!

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennie Garth. It was the only reason to watch Beverly Hills 90210. It’s funny because when you compare her to Jacey, they have nothing in common, lookswise

Favourite body part the curve of a woman’s waist

The last book you read and was it good The Martian by Andy Weir and it was great. Just as good as the movie

Favourite alcoholic beverage? I really like a nice Barolo, especially from 2010

Last question!

Three words to describe you Good teacher, great father and the best listener

D is also for Del

Del is married to Iliya in the Touch series. The two of them have an open marriage and invite Kenna to join them in the bedroom. He’s an award-winning author, also a teacher, self-professed mama’s boy and only wants his wife to be happy.

What’s your favourite colour? Navy blue

Favourite food? Kenna’s brownies. But don’t tell my Mama

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? I’ve been all over the Caribbean, and it’s bad that I should know what island is furthest. But hey, I’m an English teacher, not geography

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  Del and the Dominos. That sounds like a real band!

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? L L Cool J

Teenage crush (famous person) Jennifer Love Hewitt

Favourite body part A woman’s skin

The last book you read and was it good A Man Called Ove

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Glenfiddich Scotch Whiskey

Last question!

Three words to describe you Husband, writer, educator

So here’s two posts and three characters for the price of one! If any of these character seem to be up your alley, make sure you check out my books at author.to/AnnaElllisbooks. Or drop a comment and let me know what you think!

I’m back to blogging!

At least for the month of April. Once again, I’m attempting the Blogging A-Z Challenge after crashing just before the finish line in 2020.

Who can blame me? It was 2020.

But this is 2021—a new year with its own set of challenges. I’m going to focus on the one I can control.

What is the Blogging A- Z Challenge?

It all began 2010 when a blogger (not me – anyone know who I can credit for this?) challenged other bloggers to post every day for the month of April. If you take out the Sundays of the month, it makes 26 days – one day for each letter of the alphabet, and the challenge grew from there. There are hundreds of bloggers who participate and I’ll post the master list as soon as I get on it for those interested in checking it out. All you need is a website where you can post your blog and an idea to write about, referred to as a theme.

So, what’s my theme?

The theme for this year is:

Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.

I’ll be selecting a character from one of my books and giving them a few questions to answer, including what their favourite beverage is. And to begin with, I’ll let you know a bit about me – Anna Ellis.

As a bit of background, I’m an author of thirty-five novels, collections and short stories – books that are sexy and steamy and usually feature married couples enjoying the company of other married couples. I write in the erotic romance genre and I write about swingers.

Am I a swinger? I can’t tell you…yet. 🙂

Anna Ellis – Author

What’s your favourite colour? I like purple or a nice, dark red. Blue red, not too orangy.

Favourite food? Tonight I’m making burgers so I’ll go with that. I love a good burger with just the right about of melted cheese, maybe a bit of bacon, a slice of avocado and a slick slather of mayo. Hungry yet?

Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Vienna, Austria

If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be?  The Swingers

What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Alanis Morrissette – the whole Jagged Little Pill album

Teenage crush (famous person) Kirk Cameron. Which is slightly ironic (ironic – Alanis! :)) since I’ve heard he’s an uber-conservative who most likely would not appreciate my books! But, hey, he was really cute! And I just dated myself!

Favourite body part A man’s hands

The last book you read and was it good Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. And yes, very good!

Favourite alcoholic beverage? Dirty martini. And here’s how I make them!

  • 3 ounces gin
  • splash of dry vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce olive brine – we call it olive juice!
  • Garnish: 2 to 4 olives…or more. Helpful hint – Cerignola olives are my fav! They have a pit but are so meaty that it’s like you get a snack as well!

Shake gin and vermouth with ice, then add olives and juice. Cheers!!

Last question!

Three words to describe you Fun, feisty, and enthusiastic!

Blogging A-Z Challenge

I’m supposed to do a recap tomorrow but since my recap will be about how I dropped the ball on this one, I think I’ll do one last post today and call it a day!

The plan was to post every day in April (except Sunday). My theme was Covid-19, the first and last time I will ever write about it!  (Seriously – all my books will just bypass the first half of this year!) Using the letters of the alphabet, I was going to post about the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly about the pandemic.

I didn’t quite make it, the first time in about 4 attempts that I didn’t make it all the way through. For this, I apologize.

I will end with the letter W.

THE GOOD: The World – one of the few things good about this pandemic is that the world is getting a chance to breath and take a moment. Pollution is down, animal sightings are up and people (for the most part) are being kind to each other. Makes you think we might have a chance after this. We are in this together.

THE BAD: The World – for all the good stuff going on in the world, there is still a lot of bad. The scammers, people trying to take advantage of others, people willing to sacrifice others – I like to look for the best in people, but some people make it really difficult.

THE UGLY: That this is happening to the world. It sucks. It really does.

A-Z Blogging Challenge – R & S

A-Z Blogging Challenge

This has been another one of those days, so we’re combining yesterday’s letter R post with today’s letter S.

The GOOD:

RELAX. Not only is this pandemic a good way for you to help save the world by relaxing at home, but I look it as a great chance for the world to relax. Things are not great, things will not be great for a while, but this is the chance for the world to catch a breath, and take a moment. The whole world.

SLEEPWEAR: You can spend your whole day in pajamas if you’re so inclined!  That is, if you wear them. See earlier post about N – Naked!

THE BAD:

RETURNING THINGS – Apparently, if you order online, you can’t return things until the stores open. Always a problem for online shoppers.

SUPPER – Who else is getting sick of finding new and creative things to make for dinner? You can only eat so much spaghetti!

THE UGLY:

REPUBLICAN – I hesitate using this word, because I don’t mean all republicans, and I don’t want to get political. But I don’t want to waste my letter T.  So when I say republican, I only mean one. And I’m not trying to offend anyone. If I did, you can stop reading now.

SEX – How is that even possible these days with the mandatory two feet distance??

There you have it; the good, the bad and the ugly about Covid-19, using the letters R and S! Stay safe everyone and comment if you can!
