At least for the month of April. Once again, I’m attempting the Blogging A-Z Challenge after crashing just before the finish line in 2020.
Who can blame me? It was 2020.
But this is 2021—a new year with its own set of challenges. I’m going to focus on the one I can control.
What is the Blogging A- Z Challenge?
It all began 2010 when a blogger (not me – anyone know who I can credit for this?) challenged other bloggers to post every day for the month of April. If you take out the Sundays of the month, it makes 26 days – one day for each letter of the alphabet, and the challenge grew from there. There are hundreds of bloggers who participate and I’ll post the master list as soon as I get on it for those interested in checking it out. All you need is a website where you can post your blog and an idea to write about, referred to as a theme.
So, what’s my theme?
The theme for this year is:
Books and Booze: The Characters of Anna Ellis and what they do for fun.
I’ll be selecting a character from one of my books and giving them a few questions to answer, including what their favourite beverage is. And to begin with, I’ll let you know a bit about me – Anna Ellis.
As a bit of background, I’m an author of thirty-five novels, collections and short stories – books that are sexy and steamy and usually feature married couples enjoying the company of other married couples. I write in the erotic romance genre and I write about swingers.
Am I a swinger? I can’t tell you…yet. 🙂
Even though I get pretty dirty in my books, this will be a PG rated post. I can’t promise all of them well be 😉
Keep reading and I’ll provide a list of my books and where you can buy them. But even though this challenge will be full of self-promotion for me, I want it to be fun for you as well! So here we go!

What’s your favourite colour? I like purple or a nice, dark red. Blue red, not too orangy.
Favourite food? Tonight I’m making burgers so I’ll go with that. I love a good burger with just the right about of melted cheese, maybe a bit of bacon, a slice of avocado and a slick slather of mayo. Hungry yet?
Farthest you’ve ever travelled? Vienna, Austria
If you were a musician, what would your band/one name be? The Swingers
What’s your favourite 90’s jam? Alanis Morrissette – the whole Jagged Little Pill album
Teenage crush (famous person) Kirk Cameron. Which is slightly ironic (ironic – Alanis! :)) since I’ve heard he’s an uber-conservative who most likely would not appreciate my books! But, hey, he was really cute! And I just dated myself!
Favourite body part A man’s hands
The last book you read and was it good Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. And yes, very good!
Favourite alcoholic beverage? Dirty martini. And here’s how I make them!
- 3 ounces gin
- splash of dry vermouth
- 1/2 ounce olive brine – we call it olive juice!
- Garnish: 2 to 4 olives…or more. Helpful hint – Cerignola olives are my fav! They have a pit but are so meaty that it’s like you get a snack as well!
Shake gin and vermouth with ice, then add olives and juice. Cheers!!
