Interview:

What inspired you to write this story?

Shared Accommodations came about in a strange sort of way. I had just finished my Touch series and I was trying to come up with something new for my next book. I read an article in a magazine about this man who traveled around the country having rendezvous with married couples and something about it clicked with me. My first series was about a group of swingers, and it was so much fun to write that I had been trying to come up with a way to revisit it. So then the traveling man and the swingers somehow came together into a resort for adults, primarily for swingers and I went from there.

What was your favorite part to write?

My favourite part of writing is creating new characters. I loved coming up with Lorde and his heartbreak and backstory. I think the scene with him and Elizabeth was my favourite. And Morena – I have so much on her, I can’t wait to tell her story!

What was the hardest part to write?

Honestly, the sex scenes!  Not all the time – I do write erotica and I like to think I’ve gotten pretty good at it. But it’s hard when I’m working in the middle of a scene and everyone is all excited, and all of a sudden my kids will come home from school or my husband will ask me something, and I have stop in the middle and leave my characters hanging! I don’t like to leave my characters hanging – it’s no fun for anyone!

How did you come up with your characters?

I get the name and an image of what I want the character to look like. Then I find a picture of an actor on-line and start with a character bio – description, backstory, what they want in the story. I think a lot about my characters before I start and while I’m writing. I don’t really know how I come up with them, but there’s usually some part of myself in each. Maybe we both have the same favourite movie, or I use something that’s happened to me, as a way to find their emotion.

Do you have anything coming up and can you tell us about it?

Of course! I’m in the midst of the second Adults Only novel – this one is called Room Service. Morena and Lorde are back, along with a few of the guests from Shared Accommodations. I had requests for some of the older characters, so they’ll visiting the B & B for the weekend again! But no Jacey and Dominic  – they’re back home with their naughty neighbours. This time we’ll meet Callie and Sadie and Jason, from my Office Plays books.
