I re-posted this from Holly Kerr’s site . I’d like to open my page for indie authors too!
Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading that asks you to choose one of the following prompts to answer:
- I’m currently reading…
- Up next I think I’ll read…
- I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
- I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
- I can’t wait to get a copy of…
- I wish I could read ___, but…
- I blogged about ____ this past week…
THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: How many books, approximately, do you think you have in your personal collection?
PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Musing Mondays post, or share your answer in a brief comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks! 😀
Monday Musing – How Many Books?
This is my Monday Musing for the week, but it’s not about reading. Should be Reading made some changes to her memes and while I’ll still follow along with her guidelines, this week I needed to strike off on my own. But before I do, I will answer her random question.
I was curious about this, so I went down to my bookshelves and did some calculations. Let’s just say I have between 500-600 hundred books and leave it at that. This will be an exhorbent number to a lot of people (probably my husband) and but a drop in the bucket to others.
If you want to make your own bookish confess, leave a comment for me. I’m interested in hearing numbers.
Monday Musing #2 – If you are an Indie Author, Read This!!
MY Monday musing this week is about authors helping authors.
My novel, Absinthe Doesn’t Make the Heart Grow Fonder will be released Feb 17. It’s the third book I’ve published, and the first one that I know what I’m doing (sort of) regarding the promotion/marketing of it. I was clueless with my first book and a little more savvy with the second, but had absolutely no time to do anything. With Absinthe, I’m starting early. Maybe not the 4-6 months early the marketing gurus suggest, but hey, I’m not perfect.
In my search to find ways to reach new readers, I’ve come across a lot of websites where authors make a point of helping other authors. I’m not listing them now, but keep watch, because I’ll be featured on a few of them in the following weeks, and I’ll be giving kudos to each and every one of them. I hook up a list soon, as well.
Indie Author Spotlights
I was inspired by these authors and have decided I want to join in the fun! I set up a indie spotlight on my blog back in 2013 (example from Rissa Blakeley) where I contacted a few indie authors to interview, but I kind of dropped the ball on that. I want to pick it up again and begin with an invite to any Indie Author who comes across my blog, to feel free to contact me. I’ll feature you on my site, with either an interview or a guest post or even just a blurb about your latest release. Writing can be a lonely profession and reaching out to others makes it a more social event for me.
So contact me if you want on board! I’m happy to help promote any way I can!!

I’ve listed almost 400 books at Goodreads, and I’m not anywhere near halfway done, but my personal library is dwarfed by the one my mother amassed.
I’m an Indie Author, so if you check out my blogs and something you see makes you curious, you can put me on your schedule. 🙂
